From October 18th to 20th, the Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2024 was held in Beijing. The International Conference on Financial Technology is a specific section of the Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2024. Its parallel forum, named International Forum on Green Development, was held on October 21. The forum was jointly hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Xicheng District, the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment and BRI International Green Development Coalition. It was co-organized by China-Europe Green and Innovation Industry Association, the Institute of Finance and Sustainability in Beijing and New Actuation Fintech Center, with the theme of “Support of Finance for Green Development: Adding a New Chapter for Green International Cooperation".
At the conference
Nearly 100 people, including Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Jorge Toledo, Ambassador of Delegation of the European Union to China, attended the forum. Li Junkai, Research fellow, Secretary-General of the ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Think Tank Alliance") and Director of the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, was invited to participate in the forum. She attended the inauguration ceremony of Green Innovation International Expert Workstation, and presided over the section which with the third theme "Promoting Innovation and Cooperation between China and Europe in Green Energy".

At the conference, Li Junkai, together with Ma Jun, President of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability in Beijing, Fan Haoyi, Chairman of China-Europe Green and Innovation Industry Association, and Jia Tieying, Secretary of the School of Ecology and Environment of Renmin University of China, attended the inauguration ceremony of Green Innovation International Expert Workstation. The workstation aims to gather the wisdom of global experts in green innovation and jointly promote the construction of a global green governance system. In the third theme "Promoting Innovation and Cooperation between China and Europe in Green Energy" of the roundtable forum, as the moderator, Li Junkai exchanged views with experts such as Li Zhong, Deputy Director of the Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, Allan Bertelsen, Industry Counsellor of Denish Embassy in China, and Xu Zhonghua, Vice President of Technology of TotalEnergies (Asia) Co., Ltd., on topics such as the path of energy transition, technological innovation, and China-Europe green energy cooperation. The experts analyzed the topics from different dimensions, showing the broad prospects and importance of China-Europe green energy cooperation.
The section of roundtable forum
At the end of the roundtable dialogue, Li Junkai invited the guests to summarize their expectations and the outlook for China-Europe green energy cooperation and innovation in one sentence. Li Junkai said that it is necessary to strengthen China-Europe green energy cooperation with a more open attitude, promote the innovation and application of green energy technology with more pragmatic measures, and contribute wisdom and strength to the realization of global sustainable development more steadfastly.
